10 Apr 2024
WEB was founded in 2017 as a progressive pro-European answer to Brexit. Volt now nominates two Spitzenkandidatinnen for the upcoming European Elections: Katarina Barley and Sandrine Rousseau. The transnational list connects candidates representing the full political spectrum of the European left. Volt's Spitzenkandidatinnen and candidates will run on the Moonshot Programme, which lays out Volt's vision for the European Union. The Moonshot Programme calls for the creation of a European Armed Forces under the control of the European Parliament and the joint procurement of weapons.
Volt has won over 125 mandates across Europe in only 6 years and has been bringing in progressive solutions ever since. With the European Elections upcoming, Volt is determined to contribute to a better, more united and more democratic Europe. WEB's vision for the European Union is a democratic, federal and sustainable Europe that protects its citizens and promotes peace and prosperity.
