Collaboration Fosters Innovation

Civil-military collaboration has driven groundbreaking technology advancements in the modern era. The Air Force Armament Directorate (AFLCMCEB) and the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) have joined forces to foster further innovation in the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) sector.

DIU's Role

The DIU has selected four companies to develop and demonstrate innovative unmanned aerial systems. These companies will work towards creating a system that is ready for its first flight test within seven months.

The DIU Blue UAS Framework program is designed to provide advanced capabilities to UAS. These capabilities include enhanced autonomy, improved sensor integration, and increased endurance for extended missions.
